Solar Snap by AceClamp
If you live an area of the country with unpredictable weather, you can rely on Solar Snap™ by AceClamp Solar to keep your PV array on your roof, especially during times of strong winds and rain. Solar Snap is an adaptive, robust racking system built to meet the rigors of Hurricane-type winds.
Hurricane Maria and then Dorian were two recent high-wind events that caused much damage to solar systems in Puerto Rico. The AceClamp engineering team studied some of those significant damages caused to rails in conjunction with forensic reports provided by wind and roofing experts, here in the United States. Their results showed some of the many weaknesses of the current state-of-the-art rail/PV connector designs.
The goals were to design a strong mid-clamp and end-clamp that would, once assembled, withstand high wind forces coming from all directions during a hurricane. In addition, the rails need to support the PV array at the sustained velocities, as well as during high gust loads. Taking those requirements into consideration, the whole system needed to be easily and quickly installed on the roofs. The audible “SNAP” when the rails are attached to the L-Foot and the PV panels are secured to the rails are a way to assure the installer that everything is connected correctly. If you don’t hear or feel the “SNAP” go back and double-check your work.
Designed to work with any of our SSMR clamps, Solar Snap is an ideal solution for almost any roof type, including SSMR, Island Style Roofs, Single-Ply, and Asphalt. Our fully-assembled component groups are fast-installing, and our unique cross-platform system adapts to all roof types creating less inventory to maintain. With Solar Snap, installation is a breeze-just snap, slide, and secure. Solar Snap is HVHZ compliant solar racking for up to 185 mph winds.
